Grants & Research Partnerships

A research-performing
organization, not a pitch deck.

IN2Labs is led by a founder with a direct history in federally funded R&D — including an NSF SBIR award as principal investigator and research-group work at MIT. We're actively evaluating federal SBIR/STTR opportunities and Massachusetts state R&D programs — here's the track record behind that.

Track record

Our founder, Eric P. Hassey, has led R&D as principal investigator and lead engineer for 15+ years across defense systems, AI medical devices, and consumer applications — work that includes an NSF SBIR award and R&D as part of a research group at MIT. That same research discipline — frame the problem, prototype fast, ship a working system — is how the studio operates today.

NSF SBIR

2019 — federal AI technology funding for early-stage R&D, as principal investigator.

ASRS Best Pitch

2021 — national med-tech startup competition.

What we bring to a funded program

Prior awardee, PI-led

A founder who has served as principal investigator on federally funded work (NSF SBIR), not a team learning the process on your award.

Massachusetts small business

IN2Labs, LLC is a Boston-based small business — the entity class SBIR/STTR and Massachusetts state programs exist to fund.

Specific technical depth

Applied AI and machine learning, computer vision (including retinal image analysis shipped in a HIPAA-compliant health platform), and cloud & edge architecture — domains we've delivered in production, not a capabilities slide.

Commercialization evidence

In-house products researched, built, shipped, and operated by the studio — a working answer to the "can they get it to market?" question every reviewer asks.

Programs we're evaluating

We're structured to pursue non-dilutive R&D funding alongside our in-house product work — both federal and Massachusetts state programs:

Federal SBIR / STTR

Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer programs across agencies (e.g. NSF, NIH, DoD) — the same federal mechanism behind our prior NSF SBIR award.

Massachusetts state R&D programs

Massachusetts-specific innovation and R&D support — including SBIR/STTR matching and technical assistance through MassVentures, and programs run by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MassTech) and the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) for health- and life-sciences-adjacent work.
